Dignity Health
Dignity Health is the fifth largest hospital system in the U.S. and the largest not-for-profit hospital provider in California.
Overview
The project
We re-designed the website by unifying the site architecture and visual design system, improving the UX through a new tool “Find a Doctor” and updating the billing experience.
The team
Interbrand hired me as a freelance UX/UI Designer to support a Creative Director and a UX Designer on this project.
My role
Wireframes, UI/visual design, interaction design, style guide creation
Organizing content through wireframing
With over 280 medical facilities in 3 different states, Dignity Health’s web platform has a complex information architecture, including separate websites for each of its 150+ hospital and care center locations.
To plan how content and visual components should be prioritized within the site architecture, we wireframed key pages. This also ensured consistency in how we were displaying information across the site.
“Find a Doctor” tool
We improved the user experience for patients by introducing a new feature that would allow users to easily search for doctors by specialty, name, and location.
A new visual design system
I designed templates for regional and hospital facilities, informational pages about the history and leadership of the healthcare organization, pages for editorial content, and pages for classes and events.

Facility landing page template
Each of the 280 medical facilities would have its own landing page, so we designed a modular template with sections that they could use as needed.
Designing across various devices
The new website would be responsive, so I created mocks and design specifications for desktop, tablet, and mobile sizes.
